Moving to San Antonio – 6 things I wish I’d known

Happy Tuesday, loves! As I mentioned in my last post, I moved to San Antonio, TX last year. Well, today actually marks the one-year anniversary of my move, and this post, about moving to San Antonio, is one I’ve been working on for a while! Before we get into it, I just wanna say that there’s still a lot I am yet to explore about SA. This post is based on my experiences so far, and also a bit of research, i.e., talking to quite a few people who are from here or have moved here. I don’t intend to offend anyone with this post, and I certainly don’t want this to sound like a personal rant. So, I thought it’s only fair to actually talk to other people about their experiences before writing this post. I want this to be informational, and hopefully, something that’ll be of help to anyone moving to San Antonio, TX.

San Antonio, TX is the 4th fastest growing city in the US (waaahhhhh!) and also the 7th biggest city in the US. Who’da thunk, huh!  View Post

Personal Burnout Hiatus

Hey y’all! Happy hump day – we’re halfway through the week, and we’re coming up on a long weekend. Exciting times, huh? So, I haven’t blogged in over five months and I kind of just went MIA. I think after this much-needed break, I’m finally ready to come back to blogging but first, I want to talk about why I went on this hiatus to begin with. Bear with me because this is a pretty long, and a very candid post – about not only the reality of a blogger burnout, but everything that’s been happening in my personal life. I didn’t think I was ready to write about all of this, but I think I am. So, even I’m surprised at how candid this is. View Post

Happy Monday, loves! Can y’all believe it’s 11 days till Christmas? I don’t have a fancy holiday party to go to, but if I did, this leather & feathers look would probably be my go-to holiday party outfit. I know it’s usually all about LBDs and sparkly dresses, and as much as I love all those options, it’s fun to stand out every now and then, no? This faux leather pants & feather trim tank combo is my version of an LBD for the holidays! I am absolutely loving this feather trim tank that’s over 40% off right now, and just $40! It also comes in skirt & dress versions, and they’re all on sale!

Happy Giving Tuesday, loves! Today, I’m teaming up with ShopStyle to help raise money for Dress for Success – an international not-for-profit organization that empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life! I am donating 10% of any sales generated through my blog, today and tomorrow, to Dress for Success! Anything you buy through the links on my blog, today and tomorrow, will benefit Dress for Success! Also, ShopStyle will be matching 100% of my contribution. So, we’ll be doubling the amount we contribute to DFS! Thriving in work and life has a lot to do with looking and feeling confident. It’s funny how up until a couple years ago, I barely owned anything black. In the past couple years, however, that has changed. I feel like there’s nothing easier, and more perfect than an LBD. For any occasion. When I shot this outfit yesterday morning, I was having a bit of a rough start to my day and week. So, as I was getting dressed for work, I thought about what I could wear that’s easy, and guaranteed to make me look and feel great! This black dress is ridiculously soft (kind of like wearing the softest t-shirt or being wrapped in a throw blanket), comes in 3 colors, and it’s also the perfect length for work. The ruching at the waist makes it extremely flattering for any body type. Nothing makes me feel more confident than a great pair of heels, and a bold red lip though!

When it comes to empowering me, I have always turned to my grandparents. Crazy, huh? But they’ve always made me feel like I can do anything I want …. as long as I work hard. They never forgot that bit about working hard. Somehow, they always made me feel unstoppable, and for that, I am forever grateful. Who empowers you? Would love to hear your stories!
