Happy Monday & happy November (can ya believe it even?)! Leather and plaid has always been one of my favorite combinations for Fall, and I love that this outfit is actually perfect for work! I actually loveeee the little polka dot lining on this shirt – isn’t it just the cutest? By the way, in case you haven’t noticed (though I’m sure you have), these sandals have been on serious repeat – one of my best purchases ever!
Happy (almost) Friday, loves! So, I bought this floral dress a while ago, because, you know, I needed it for an occasion. That’s a lie. I didn’t need it for anything. I just saw it, and I had to have it! When I first tried it on, I thought “this would be perfect with a cute pair of strappy sandals (my new shoe obsession)”, and it is. Buuutttttt, then I thought of styling it differently. Something unexpected. So, I decided to pair it with my favorite pair of OTK boots (a staple for every woman, IMO). Also, the floral print and colors make this dress very feminine, and the low v-neck makes it subtly sexy. So, I thought it’d be cool to add a little edge, with a faux leather jacket! This is a great way to transition Summer dresses to Fall! Lastly, the OTK boots and leather jacket also make this dress a bit more casual, no? Like, “Hey! I’m just gonna run out and grab coffee real quick!”. No? Too much for a coffee run?
How would y’all style this gorgeous, floral dress? Also, now I need a legit place/occasion to wear it to. Any suggestions? How do y’all transition Summer dresses to Fall? Most importantly, what’s everyone dressing up as, for Halloween?
Ok, so I’ve been seeing everyone rocking sleeveless trenches and dusters, and I’ve gotta keep it real with y’all – this whole time I was just thinking “I don’t get it. What’s the point of it?”. There, I said it. Anyways, I ordered this gorgeous, pink sleeveless trench (only $16 + extra 30% off right now = ONLY $11!), and decided to give this trend a try & I am absolutely loving it! The color is perfect, and it’s such a great way to layer for Fall! For cooler days, you can always layer a sleeveless trench over a long-sleeved shirt or sweater – it actually looks like a color block coat!
By the way, we shot these yesterday morning, and San Antonio was not serving up good weather! I was in Dallas for a few days, and got back to San Antonio, and it’s all rainy and gross.
You guys ever find a certain piece of clothing or a pair of shoes that you think you can live in forever? And how perfect if it’s a dress AND a pair of shoes, that go perfectly together? I feel like I’m amongst my people here, so y’all have to know what I’m talking about. That’s how this grey dress & these tan sandals are for me – I have been wearing this grey dress and these sandals, on repeat, since I get them both a couple weeks ago! You already saw this outfit on Instagram, if you follow me (of course, you do, right?!).
I’m obsessed with this grey dress for 3 reasons – 1. It’s basically a t-shirt dress. So, it’s super comfortable. 2. The knot-front cinches in the waist, and makes it figure-flattering on any body type. Also, it’s a midi dress, but the slit makes it perfect even for shorties like me. 3. The incredible price! And now that I’ve done that, I feel like there are more reasons. For instance, this dress is super versatile – it’s long enough to wear to work, with an oversized cardigan, I’ve also worn it to brunch, and it’s perfect even to transition into fall – just add a faux leather jacket!
And these sandals, you guys! I can go on an on about them. They’re super comfortable, only $29, and incredibly sexy, paired with just about anything. Also, they’re a super budget-friendly version of the Prada Scalloped Suede Sandals. I’m all about versatility. When I find something I love, I wanna wear it all the time!
Remember this post, where I’d mentioned my recent obsession with black? I guess this new obsession continues, and I’m falling for all black outfits! I had posted this all black outfit on Instagram a month ago, but only recently got around to shooting it. Also, my hair’s pretty different from when I posted this outfit on Insta. I had that hair back in 2013, and loved it (see here, here, here, here),
but it just didn’t stick this time around. If you’ve been following my blog for some time, you know this is different from what I usually wear. But my style has always evolved with time, and I’m ok with that. Y’all wanna know what’s ironic? Black is the quintessential NY wardrobe color, but when I lived up there, I wore very little black. Now, I live in Texas, and I have this new found love for black, and all black outfits at that!
What fun is a full skirt if you don’t twirl in it, right? So, are you team all black or do you like more color in your wardrobe?!
Btw, have you guys heard of Ditto? It’s become my new obsession. For only $24/month, you can rent as many designer sunglasses as you’d like (like these Pradas I’ve been hooked on!). Rent a pair, and when you’re done with it, pick another pair, that comes with a return shipping label. Pack up & send back your current pair, and enjoy your new pair for as long as you’d like. And you can do that as many times as you want! Wanna know the best part? If you sign up using my code – STILETTOSANDSEQUINS – you get your first month FREE!
