A Letter About Heartbreak

Last week I was at Aldo’s and saw this beauty – the Petrona. Now, I actually have a few injuries in my legs and haven’t been wearing heels nearly as much as I used to. I’m also not supposed to be wearing heels for a while. But when I saw this, I got weak in the knees. My heart skipped a beat. I was out of breathe. I had to have these – for when I’m back to wearing heels. I absolutely HAD to have them. Well, as you probably can tell from the title of this post – I couldn’t have them. They didn’t have them in my size. They didn’t even have them in the next size up – I would’ve worn that with insoles. But no, they didn’t have it. They didn’t have any online. They didn’t have any at any stores in the neighboring states. Nowhere.

I felt like I had gone from being head over heels in love (pun intended) to being stabbed in my heart, within a matter of seconds. It was like no pain I had ever felt before. Am I being a little overdramatic? Probably. Do I care? No. I’m a girl whose heart has been shattered. All I wanted was to bring the love of my life home with me. And I couldn’t.

So, dear Aldo’s designers and executives – this is a letter to you. I need this shoe in my life. I’ll be waiting.

Heartbroken & Helpless

UPDATE: The day I posted this, Canopi tweeted it and included Aldo’s in the tweet. Next thing you know, I get an email from “M” at Aldo’s, asking for my size and zip code. A couple days later “M” emails me saying there are 2 pairs at the Fifth Ave store in NYC. There is no way I would’ve been able to make it to NYC anytime soon, so, I gave up. Well, not Aldo’s. “M” was  determined to unbreak my heart. So, she worked her magic, and less than a week later, she emails me and confirms that my local Aldo’s store is now holding a pair of these beauties for me! This is how dreams come true! Thank you SO much, “M”!

UPDATE 2: I finally went to pick these up. And well, these were too big. I have already tried the next size down and that was too small. Basically, these are just not meant to be mine. However, I can not talk enough about the AMAZING customer service that “M” at Aldo’s provided.
